Jillian's Seventh Month

Jill.  We have two new teeth emerging this month, much to my excitement as a mother and my chagrin as a nursing mother.  But she sure looks cute!  Jill is also making a lot of new sounds, like "ba ba" and "da da", while still delighting us with her old ones, including a high-pitched squeal when she's excited and a loud, exhausted groan as she's drifting off to sleep.  She's also starting to "scoot."  It's not officially crawling yet, but she is definitely on the move.  She is especially enthusiastic about scooting toward things she's not supposed to have...like glasses of water or electronic gadgets.

Aaron.  Aaron grew about an inch this month, taking us all by surprise.  My mom was the one who noticed it.  Even though she had just seen him a week before, she insisted that he looked thinner and taller so we stood him up next to his growth chart and, sure enough, she was right (first time ever, I swear)!  Although, the weight loss may have also been partly due to the fact that Aaron had the stomach flu the week before.  I'll spare you pictures of his orange vomit (yes, we fortuitously decided to serve sweet potatoes for dinner that night) all over the carpet, the walls, the door frame, the couch, and the bathroom.  Thank goodness for next-day professional carpet cleaners.  But he was a trooper and remained a sweetheart even though he was miserable.  Thankfully, he still doesn't like to share everything with his sister (either that, or the breastfeeding protected her) but he was generous enough to share it with the rest of us.  How sweet!

QUOTE WALL/MEMORABLE MOMENTS
-Jill and I were playing right outside Aaron's room where he was taking a nap when Jill let out a particularly loud squeal.  Aaron, in his sleep, called out: "I'm coming Jill!  Jill!  I'm coming!"  I could see on the video monitor that he never even sat up or opened his eyes.  And then he kept right on sleeping.

-We took the kids to see their cousin Alyssa's Christmas pageant.  When she was up on stage, Chris held Aaron up so that he could see and he was fervently searching for Alyssa's face.  When he found her, he shouted at the top of his lungs: "Oh there's Alyssa!  Hi Alyssa!"  And after each song, he called out, "Good job Alyssa!" and clapped his hands fervently.  Everyone knew who Alyssa was by the end of the show!
