Once a year, during the summer, hundreds of people from our church gather at the lakefront for a special baptism ceremony. Our church also does baptisms the normal way, but this is a larger celebration with a bunch of people getting baptized all at once. Last weekend, Chris and I joined the celebration and got baptized in the lake--Chris for the first time, and me for the first time as an adult. It was amazing to be surrounded by so many people making the same commitment (over 100 people were baptized with us) and to have good friends there to support us. Most importantly, our kids were there to witness it!
