For Mother's Day last weekend, we wanted to do something special. Not only because of the holiday (which we usually don't take too seriously), but because I turned in my grades and wrapped up my first year of teaching! To celebrate the end of grading and lecture prep (for a while, anyway), we headed to Great Wolf Lodge, which is an indoor water park just about an hour north of Chicago.
My little wolf cubs.
Taking it all in.
It was tough to get a lot of pictures, since we were in the water most of the time. But at one point while we were in line for a water slide, Aaron turned to me and exclaimed, "This is better than Disney World!" So I'm pretty sure they were having fun, even without photographic evidence. Our favorite water slide was one with two whirlpools (Danny called it the "double toilet") that you rode on a 5-person inner tube, so we could all go together.
The lazy river was the only time they were still enough to catch them on camera.
Nothing lazy about these little balls of energy!
These umbrellas don't work very well.
Bedtime stories with Wiley the Wolf.
Grateful to be their mom!
Before we left, we let each kid have $15 for a "special treat." Aaron chose the arcade and ran off before I could get his picture. Jill chose a stuffed purple wolf that she named Sugar Plum.
Danny chose mini-golf, and went all Happy Gilmore on his putts (notice his iron grip).
It's all in the hips.
Must've been a good celebration!
