Just before Thanksgiving, our school system announced we were going back to remote learning for the month of December. I may have mentioned this (about 100x) before, but remote learning is the worst. So we decided to make the best of the worst...and spend a week in Arizona! Hey, if you're going remote, you might as well be, well, remote.
This little pooch did amazingly well on her first 14-hour road trip.
Thanks to screens, the kids did pretty well too.
And the reward at the end of the trip was totally worth it. Our rental had a heated pool, hot tub, waterfall cave, and "in-pool" dining.
We made it!
The kiddos spent every free moment in the water. On days when they didn't have school, they were in the pool for 6-7 hours straight.
And even when they did have school, they jumped in the water whenever there was a break between zoom meetings.
They didn't even get out for meals.
Their favorite activity was diving for coins.
On our first day there, Danny couldn't keep his head above water. By the time we left, he was diving for coins with everyone else.
Pepper wasn't a big fan of swimming, but she liked to lick the pool water off our faces.

The house also had a great game room.
And a TV in every bedroom.
There were lots of movies and snuggles.
But mostly swimming.
Remote learning taught us that everything is better when you have a swimming pool!
