Buh-Bye 2020

Oh 2020, how terrible you have been!  Let me count the ways!  From a global pandemic causing millions of deaths worldwide, to Black Lives Matter protests against police brutality and racism, to the teargassing of those same protesters in our own capital city, to the rise of right-wing Nazi extremism, to massive and devastating wildfires all over the world, to the refusal of the worst president in our nation's history to commit to the peaceful transition of power, to murder hornets, to Tiger King, to the plot to kidnap the governor of Michigan, to the deaths of John Lewis, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Alex Trebek.  Need I go on?

So of course we had to celebrate the end of this year that has been so awful for so many.  The bar is so low that it really wouldn't take much for 2021 to be better.  And on that hopeful note: cheers!

I bought all the flair.

The kids brought all the noise.

And the bellies.

And the smiles.

So glad we could celebrate with these party animals.

Even Pepper was in the mood to party!

This calls for champagne.

There was something for everyone.

Ready to toast!

We found an old ball drop video for the kids to watch and it felt really weird to see such huge crowds in Times Square.  The actual ball drop was like something out of a sci-fi movie -- Times Square was nearly deserted and everyone was masked and separated into private pens.

Cheers to 2021!

No Auld Lang Syne here -- we are excited for the future!

2020 was a b*#$%.

'Sup 2021, let's do this.
