We got a special treat for Fall Break -- a long weekend at a lake house! Some friends let us use their gorgeous house on Columbine Lake (right next to Grand Lake) so we got to experience a little Midwestern flavor in the Mountains for a few days.
You don't get many waterfront views in Colorado.

The lake was stocked, so we tried our hand at fishing.
Only caught one fish the whole weekend, but it was a beauty!
We also went for a quick hike in Rocky Mountain National Park, which was just a few minutes away.
They tried really hard to pretend they didn't hate hiking.

Apart from fishing and hiking, we spent most of the weekend playing board games and hanging out.
Oh, and resting.
Lots of resting (which was definitely Pepper's favorite).
