11 Months Old

Well, this is it folks -- our last monthly picture update.  After this, Aaron's age will be measured in years, not months (at least, for everyone who isn't a pediatrician or the parent of a child age 2 or younger).  This month, Aaron has two upper teeth poking through, making his grin even more irresistable.  We're also going through a period of individuation, i.e., "IdowhateverIwant" and "Idon'thavetolistentoyou" and "gimmegimmegimme"!  It's cute when he's striving to accomplish a new skill, like stacking blocks or pushing buttons.  It's a little less cute at mealtimes when he's dropping food on the floor or smashing it to a pulp with his fist.  But really, even then, he's pretty darn cute.

We also have some new words coming out this month: mama, dada, uh oh (see aforementioned hobby of dropping food on the floor), and a few other sounds that are intended to have meaning but that we haven't deciphered yet.  It's tough to pinpoint exactly what his official first word was since it's a slow and inexact transition from babbling to intentional word formation.  But I'm pretty confident that "dada" emerged as the frontrunner, so that's our story and we're sticking to it.

And most importantly, he took his first steps...TODAY!  It's been a good month.
