Jill is Three!

Our little Jilly Bean turned three last week!  We can't believe how quickly she is growing up.  This sweet little girl has brought so much joy to our family.  Words don't do her justice, but a few that come to mind are precocious, contrarian, animated, sensitive, curious, thoughtful, imaginative, goofball, instigator, generous, intelligent, cuddly...I could go on and on.  We don't know what we would do without her and we're so grateful that she's ours!

A couple of days before her actual birthday, Jill got a visit from Nana and Papa, who brought a very special birthday present:

An Elsa costume!

The birthday girl was pretty excited.

Grateful hugs.

Even cuter than the original!

On her actual birthday, she got special balloons and some love from Mom, Dad, and her brothers.

Three balloons for the three-year-old!

Opening her presents

A new piggy bank!  After all, with age comes fiscal responsibilities.

She also got the pink scooter she'd been begging for.
(This girl sure loves pink!)

Now she just needs to learn to ride it...

After she opened presents at home, we had a birthday BBQ with our small group friends, who are also some of Jill's best buddies.

How many kids can we crowd onto one party blanket?

Our birthday girl got a pinkalicious Rapunzel birthday cake.

It's a little shaky, but you can still feel the love as we all sang happy birthday.

Blowing out her candle.

She wanted the biggest piece with the Rapunzel figurine on it...

...but then she decided she didn't actually want to eat it and opted for ice cream instead.

That's ok, there were plenty of people who were willing to help keep the cake from going to waste!

Happy birthday to our super sweet (and occasionally spicy) Jilly Bean.  Words just can't express how much we adore you!
