Easter Weekend

We spent Easter weekend with my family, which is becoming a fun tradition that we look forward to.  The day before Easter was incredibly warm and beautiful, so we spent as much time outside as possible.  The kids were especially excited to try out the new kites that Aunt Pam and Aunt Bobbie got for them!

Let's go fly a kite!

Ever wonder what it feels like to fly a kite?  Check out Aaron's face.

Ever wonder what it feels like to be tangled up in a kite?  Check out Jill's face.

We also had another birthday celebration for Danny, just for good measure.  We've basically celebrated his birth-month, instead of his birthday.  But he's not complaining!

Mmm, ice cream cake.

Taste test for the birthday boy.

Unfazed by the crazy candle.

D got lots of help opening and playing with his presents.

Daddy was in an especially festive mood.

On Easter Sunday morning, we went to Oma and Opa's church, where Aaron and Jill enjoyed the amazing children's center while Danny joined us in the service and took the message to heart.

Deep in prayer.

After the service, it was time for family bonding and, of course, the egg hunt!  Also, the Easter bunny made a showing...although I was convinced it had fleas.  Aunt Marie found a lost baby bunny in her backyard and brought it along.  And even though she promised me that it had been to the vet and cleared for parasites, I had my doubts.

Easter petting zoo.

Little egg hunters.

A decent family picture, even though Danny looks like he would rather be opening more birthday presents.  I would also like to point out that the kids' cute outfits were all sewed with love by their talented Oma.  Happy Easter from the Broyles family!
