Mommy knows how to fly the friendly skies.

A visit to Denver would not be complete without a hike through the mountains. Our city kids were loving the fresh air, running water, and rocks...lots of rocks!
It's a miracle no one fell in.
All Danny wanted to do was throw rocks in the water.
We did briefly encounter a mountain lion, but thankfully she wasn't hungry.
Wide open spaces.
Reaching new heights.
Our little trailblazers.
They worked up such an appetite that we had to stop for ice cream at the bottom of the mountain.
But climbing mountains wasn't the only fun thing we did. We also visited some of Denver's parks and playgrounds, and spent lots of time with dear friends. The kids were excited to be reunited with Adah, who moved from Chicago to Denver last summer, and who has been deeply missed. And we also got to see Hannah, and sisters Anna and Ella (who Jill was convinced was actually Elsa with the power to turn things into ice).
Reunited with Adah!
Gettin' in the groove at a Rockies game.
Chasing the Denver ducks.
Hanging out.
Two candles for the two year old!
Hooray for cupcakes!
The twos aren't so terrible!
The party ended with a little game of pick-up soccer in the backyard.
And then it was time to go back home. Thanks to all of our friends for making our trip so much fun!
Seasoned travelers.
