Sweet Pepper

Because we are gluttons for punishment, and because we are softies at heart, we finally gave in to the kids' pleas for a puppy.  Pepper is a bernedoodle pup with indigestion, sharp teeth, and a heart of gold.  We've been waiting for her for a few months, so the kids were pretty darn excited when she finally came home.

Friends of ours got a puppy from the same breeder and offered to pick Pepper up for us.  So here is Pepper, and her cousin Nox, on their way from Utah to Colorado to meet us.

Meeting Pepper for the first time.

I think this is what euphoria looks like.

Welcome to the family, Pep.

Daddy was pretty pumped too.

Mommy, on the other hand, is very aware of how much work this is going to require.

She's pretty cute...

...even though she chews on everything.

So far, we (and by that I mean "I") like her best when she's sleeping.  Especially when she sprawls out like a sunbather.

Or curls up on our feet.

She loves a good belly rub.

Not a big fan of the bath though.

But we give her enough love to make up for it.

Welcome to the family, Pepper!
It feels like you've always been here, and we already love you very much.
Now, go to sleep.
