It's an election year! But that's not the reason why we visited Wisconsin and Michigan. It was time for our annual summer pilgrimage to the Midwest.
As usual, we started at Nana and Papa's lake house in Wisconsin. This year, we were joined by a new family member: baby Andrew. Of course, we spent as much time as possible loving on our cute new nephew/cousin.
The rest of the time, we just did typical Wisconsin stuff, like swimming, piling, shooting stuff, riding stuff, and lots and lots and lots and lots of fishing.
On our way from one side of the family to the other, we stopped in Illinois to visit our surrogate family, the Budusans. Dora has three grandchildren of her own now!
During the second half of the trip, we split our time between Oma and Opa's house in Indiana, and their lake in Michigan. The Indiana part included sewing lessons for Jill, the kids' first visit to Notre Dame, and a lot of down time.

The Michigan part was more feral -- no shirts, no showers, and no rules. But plenty of cousins, cuddles...and crazy looking turtles!!!
