Fall-o-ween

The weather is finally turning crisp, the leaves are changing, football games are starting, and people are putting pumpkins and skeletons on their front porches.  Feels like Fall!

You know spooky season has arrived when you see
a Daddy toting around a mummy.

Aaron was the only Broyles who made it to Miller Farms this year, but he came home with at least five bags of produce so he had us covered.

He also harvested a bunch of veggies from our own backyard garden.  Our carrots were a little smaller than Miller Farms, but they still tasted sweet!

We put up all of our Halloween decorations, including three jack-o-lanterns that left some pretty scary scratches on our dining room table.  Doh!

Some of our neighbors really outdid themselves on the decorations, including one neighbor who moved his skeletons every night to tell a story. We even got to vote on what should happen next!

Fall also means football.  Chris and Danny went to a Broncos game, and Danny got cleared to play sports just in time for the end of his NFL flag season.  He got a pick 6 in his first game back!  He also managed to squeeze in a little European football, winning second place in a 3x3 tournament with his buddies.

Flag football awards dinner.

Colorado is perfect this time of year.  Not too hot, not too cold, and an endless supply of breathtaking views and colors.  So we spent lots of time outside biking, hiking...and playing with the Spichigers' new bernedoodle pup, Trufa.

Trufa loves her Tia Poopy.

Last but not least, we picked out costumes and did all the Halloween things -- parties, parades, and . . . volleyball?!  Chris flew back to Illinois for an alumni volleyball tournament with all of his college buddies.  At least they wore orange.

He's still got it!

Danny and his friends dressed up as "used car-lot wavy guys."  They were a big hit at the Mitchell Halloween parade and on the trick-or-treating circuit.

Jill did a group costume too.  She and her friends went with a minions theme, complete with Gru, Dr. Nefario, and one crazy purple minion (who was my favorite).

Pics from Jill's first middle school dance, where the minions reigned supreme.

Aaron waited until the last minute to find a costume and ended up borrowing half of a Dumb and Dumber couples' costume from the Willifords.  So he went as Harry without a Lloyd (or, as we joked, Dumb without the Dumber).

And as for me, I was a ball of nerves due to the upcoming election.  So I dressed up as Anxiety, naturally.

If you haven't seen Inside Out 2, you should.

Happy Halloween!
