Aaron's 8th grade continuation gift was a trip with just Chris and me to a location of his choice, anywhere within the "continental 48." He chose southern California, so we booked a hotel in Manhattan Beach.
We rode beach cruisers up and down the strand (one day, we rented e-bikes and rode all the way to Santa Monica!), shopped for souvenirs, walked out on the pier, and even boogie boarded in the waves (well, the boys boogie boarded while I read my book in the sand).
Most importantly, we soaked up precious moments with our amazing son, who we love more than words can say.
