We went with a sesame street theme. Mostly because I wanted to make these fun snack plates (thanks to Amy for letting me steal your idea!).
A sesame street cake, complete with toy cars!
Jill wore a cute "birthday girl" shirt, and her signature hairdo, for the occasion.
Aaron wore a festive party hat.
We set up some tables in the shade with munchies and cupcakes.
A little karaoke to make things interesting.
Proud (and adorable) big brother.
The balloons were a big hit!
And then it was time for Jill's "smash cake" experience.
Blowing out her candle.
She didn't really know what to do with the cake at first, but thankfully she had a helpful big brother to show her the ropes.
Happy birthday to me!
And then things got messy.
Do I have something on my face?
Hey, you've got cake on your shirt! C'mere let me clean that off for you.
By the end, they both just looked like zombies.
Really cute zombies!
After cleaning up, it was off to play in the park. Both kids were exhausted but happy by the end of the day -- just how we like 'em!
Jill, we love you to the moon and back. Happy birthday!
