Neither of our boys won the baseball championships, but thanks to participation trophies, they felt like champions anyway. (That's not true, Aaron was really bummed about not winning. But trophies.)
Danny's team lost on the first night of single-elimination play-offs. It was a really close game that went to extra innings, but in the end we were relieved disappointed that it ended in defeat. But Danny didn't care too much. He was all smiles because he's been wanting a trophy for forever and he finally got his first one!
Aaron was hoping to walk away with the championship.
He sure looked like a champion.
They all did.
But he cheered back up when he realized all the trophies were the same size anyway. Great season for the Doughnuts (yes, that was their team name and yes, we brought doughnuts to the game)!
Something tells me we'll be back in the baseball stands again next year. But before I bid farewell to baseball for the summer, here are some pictures of Danny taken by one of the team parents who had a really good camera and a really good eye:
