A few weeks ago, we got another glimpse of Baby 2 in what was probably our last ultrasound. The next time we see him/her, it will be in person! This is a side-profile of baby's face, with a hand up close to the mouth. Another thumb-sucker, perhaps?
Baby 2 is considerably more active than Aaron was in the womb, so we are interested to see how that translates into personality upon arrival -- are we getting a little firecracker? a gymnast? an actual monkey? No matter what, we know he/she will fit right in. In the meantime, I dug out and washed all our gender-neutral baby clothes, as well as the bouncy seat, activity mat, teethers, etc. Dearest baby, I promise you won't be relegated to hand-me-downs for your entire life...it's just for now when you won't notice anyway. Honest.
We also moved Aaron out of the nursery and into the bedroom downstairs. We opted for an under-the-sea theme since fishing is likely to be huge part of all our kids' life experience, but we kept some monkeys in the mix for good measure. Aaron especially loves the big stuffed monkey that we keep on the bed. We snuggle into it at night to read stories and he loves to "see monkey! see monkey!"
Ok little baby, we are all ready and excited to meet you "any day now!"
