At this point, we have a pretty established bedtime routine with Aaron. But just because the day is coming to an end, doesn't mean the fun has to stop.
First comes bathtime, which is full of splashing...and the occasional pelican attack:
Next we put on pajamas. This stage can take awhile since Aaron's belly is so cute that it requires several minutes of kissing/tickling before we can stand to cover it up:
Last of all, we snuggle in for story time. Aaron's favorite book right now is Where the Wild Things Are. He loves the part where Max tells the wild things "No!"
After story time, we say our prayers and turn out the light. Then I try to sing him a song before laying him down, but he usually cuts me off by reminding me it's time for "nigh nigh" so I stifle my maternal desire to rock him for awhile longer and simply put him in his crib and leave him to chatter to himself in bed before drifting off to sleep without my help. It's truly unbelievable how fast he is growing up.
